It is essential that stairwell windows are kept clean to ensure there is no health and safety risks for people that use the stairs in communal places. Windows that appear streak free and look cleaner provide a more attractive approach and will attract people, than those with dirty internal windows. Dirty windows affect the natural light from the sun and can create a dull presence in stairwells. However, if the windows are maintained and looked after, it will extend the durability of the windows, as you will be removing the dust and grime that can build up which can cause damage to the window sills or frames.
Tall high-rise buildings have large stairwells that are hard to access to clean on a regular basis. It can take time to be granted regulations for using expensive lifting equipment. For stairwell windows that are above 5 meters, we would recommend using the Streamline® Dragonfly®4 Kit. This kit is a safe and efficient way to clean windows at height, reaching up to 10 meters. It uses a simple pump system and bottle filled with pure water or a light detergent glass cleaner in a backpack, and a microfibre pad on a swivel mop plate attached to a telescopic pole. The Dragonfly®4 has proven to clean at height up to three times faster than traditional methods.
For stairwell windows that are below 5 meters, we would recommend using the Ecoshine® Kit. This kit is a more affordable option that is still effective at cleaning windows.
